Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic might be chasing his third consecutive MVP honor in the 2022-23 season but continues to avoid all of his legendary antics. The most recent incident to justify this claim was the talismanic center knocking an insane game-winner vs. Orlando Magic on Sunday.
When the entire Nuggets fanbase jumped from their seats in excitement, the marquee scorer had no expression to make the moment even more iconic.
Nikola Jokic was handed the ball with less than five seconds on the clock by Jamal Murray. Knowing the former’s capabilities, he was tightly defended by Franz Wagner, who is known to pressurize the opposition scorers. With the game tied at 116 apiece, it seemed like Jokic might not even get a chance to shoot until he decided to step back and launch a dagger 3-pointer. To everyone’s surprise, the shot did not only connect, but it looked like Nikola had the same scenario running in his, since the beginning.
As one can clearly watch in the clip, the rest of the Denver Nuggets and the home fans in attendance roared in celebration. But as everyone was hyped up and cheering for him after the big-time shot, the Joker went viral for his lack of expression.
While his entire bench came on the floor to celebrate, Nikola Jokic honestly just wanted to head back to the locker room after a tiring effort. Regardless of his emotions, Jokic continues to shine in the current season, making Nuggets become the best team in the NBA as they registered their 30th win.
