Fans were amused after the Los Angeles Lakers’ Patrick Beverley came up with a hilarious face flop against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles Lakers went up against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It was the Clippers who ended on the winning side after they came out on top in a 133-115 win against the Lakers, courtesy of heroics from Paul George and Kawhi Leonard – while LeBron James put in a valiant effort despite ending on the losing side.
While the Clippers forward pairing of Paul George and Kawhi Leonard racked up 27 and 25 points each in the outing, guard Nick Powell also racked up 22 points to help the Clippers to the win. On the other side, it was an incredible performance from the legendary veteran LeBron James who racked up 46 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists but could not help his team to a win.
Apart from the obvious difference makers who were trending on social media after the outing, so was the Lakers’ guard Patrick Beverley – albeit for all the wrong reasons.
The Lakers guard was trending on social media following the game, courtesy of a hilarious face flop that he performed during the outing.
Beverley was dribbling the ball into the paint in the presence of Paul George and Terance Mann, but was unable to perform what he was trying to do as a clever Mann intercepted the play and got the ball cleanly off Beverley. However, to everyone’s surprise, Beverley went down clutching his face out of nowhere as if he was hit by Mann on the face – a deliberate, and quite embarrassing face flop.
While the attempt at simulation was seemingly ignored by the players and the fans during the game, the clip went viral on social media in no time following the encounter – as fans ripped into the Lakers guard for his dishonesty as well as a below par performance yet again.
