The defending champions who have been in a bit of a rut this season defeated the San Antonio Spurs in what was a comprehensive blowout win at home, beating the visitors by a margin of 132-95 – mostly courtesy of an incredible Jordan Poole performance.
Jordan Poole was at his very best as the Warriors went up against the Spurs on Monday. The 23-year-old who was at the very center of controversy during the preseason courtesy of his infamous brawl with Draymond Green did not have the brightest of starts to his regular season, but Poole came into his own and looked like his usual self as he went up against the Spurs on Monday.
The guard scored a game-high 36 points along with 2 rebounds and 2 assists, converting 13 of his 20 field goals at a success rate of 65%. In only 29 minutes on the court, Poole registered his best performance of the season by the numbers – so much so, that the Warriors’ talisman Steph Curry was outshone and let Poole have his moment as Curry cheered his teammate on from the bench.

Stephen Curry did not have the best of games for the Warriors as he racked up only 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists – however, he made sure he contributed to the cause in whatever way he can. Therefore, Curry was seen cheering his teammate off the bench whenever he could – and it worked as Poole ended up putting his best performance of the season by the numbers.
The win will mean a lot to the Warriors’ who return to winning ways after a shaky start to the season, and look to get their season back on track in order to mount a title defense.
