Miles Bridges is rumored to be leaving the Charlotte Hornets during the free agency, due to failure in striking a deal.
There were many rumors regarding a possible exit of Miles Bridges from the Charlotte Hornets. The franchise was unable to offer him the amount of money that he wanted, which is why teams around the league began to show interest in him.
Miles is a talented player who improved massively last season. He is a ferocious dunker, but last season he improved his shooting as well. Bridges became a consistent player for them, and people viewed him as a franchise player just like LaMelo Ball.
Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak spoke about the Bridges situation. He said, “As an organization, we love Miles. We’re going to bring him back. He’s been great for the franchise, and I believe with his work ethic he’s only going to get better.”
After the comments by Mitch Kupchak, it seems likely that Miles Bridges will sign an extension with the Hornets. However, in this market, things can change pretty quickly.
After putting themselves in a good position to bring back Miles Bridges, the Hornets will be required to address other issues. Next year will be a critical year for them, as they’ll need to pay their players but there isn’t much space on their salary cap.
Due to that, there have been talks about a potential trade for Russell Westbrook by the Hornets. It’s likely that Terry Rozier and Gordon Hayward will be used in that trade. As a result, the Hornets will get an expiring contract from Westbrook. It will help them to clear cap space for next season.
