What All-Star record did Jayson Tatum break in the 2023 NBA All-Star game?
On Sunday night, the Vivint Arena in Utah hosted the 2023 NBA All-Star game, which pitted the league’s top players against one another in a highly anticipated annual event. It turns out that with his 55-point display last night, Tatum became the highest-ever scorer in an NBA All-Star game.
Tatum made history during the All-Star Game by breaking the record for most points scored with 55 points, including 22 of 31 from the field and 10 of 18 from three. The previous record of 52 points was set by Anthony Davis in 2017 when he played for the New Orleans Pelicans. In addition, Tatum also achieved a unique distinction by becoming the first player in NBA history to score 50 or more points in a regular-season game, a playoff game, and the NBA All-Star Game.
Tatum was the star of the night in the injury-riddled absence of James and Giannis, and will hope to carry on his streak of form to help the Celtics win the NBA Championship.
