Lebron James was termed reluctant after the murder of an innocent child, Tamir Rice. The boy’s mother expressed her disappointment in Lebron as he was considered the greatest sports personality in town.
In November 2014, a 12-year-old ‘black child’ named Tamir Rice was killed by a white officer in the Cleveland state. Lebron James was traded to Cleveland in 2014. It was considered a massive move after his NBA Championships in 2012 and 2013. The incident took place in a park in the City of Cleveland’s Public Work Department.
LeBron James indicated that he was not educated over the subject of Tamir Rice. On 29th December, he said, “For me, I’ve always been a guy who’s took pride in knowledge of every situation that I’ve ever spoke on. And to be honest, I haven’t really been on top of this issue. So it’s hard for me to comment.
“I understand that any lives that [are] lost, what we want more than anything is prayer and the best for the family, for anyone. But for me to comment on the situation, I don’t have enough knowledge about it.”
Tamir Rice’s mother was vocal in her interview with Roland Martin of NewsOne Now. He expected a response from the King, LeBron James. “I think it’s quite sad that LeBron hasn’t spoken out about my son. I’m not asking him to sit out a game.”
“I know his kids got to eat too, but you could at least put a shirt on or something. … I’m not asking nobody to quit their job or anything but, make a statement for us black people out here.”
Additionally, LeBron James was not obligated to comment on every issue happening around Cleveland. However, Tamir Rice’s mother created colossal pressure on LeBron to comment on his son’s murder.
