What did Giannis Antetokounmpo say about Kevin Durant on The Daily Show?
Giannis Antetokounmpo is never one to shy away from cracking a joke. The Milwaukee Bucks superstar who is known for his unbelievable physical presence on the court combining size, speed and strength, is just as known for his sense of humour off the court.
However, though Giannis is universally liked for his exploits on the court that has won him an NBA championship as well as multiple Most Valuable Player awards, his sense of humour has not proven itself to be universally approved. Giannis’ most recent joke certainly did not go down well with some, as the Bucks man threw shade at the Suns star on air in The Daily Show.
On a recent episode of The Daily Show, Giannis went on air in an interview that has since gone viral on social media. In the interview, the “Greek Freak” asked Phoenix Suns new recruit Kevin Durant to spend some time with him – in order to learn how to “carry a team” instead of joining super-teams. In fact, Durant was not in the firing line all by himself – as Giannis jokingly ripped into Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic as well.
Who did Giannis Antetokounmpo’s joke offend?
Though it may have well been innocuous, Shannon Sharpe was not too impressed with the joke as he ripped into the Bucks superstar for his comments.
On the latest episode of Undisputed, the NFL Hall of Famer fired a harsh response on Giannis, highlighting that he didn’t really carry the Bucks alone since he needed both Jrue Holiday and Khris Middleton to power Milwaukee to the NBA title. They may not be considered a traditional “superteam,” but for Sharpe, Giannis can’t make the claim that he did everything alone.
“It wasn’t cute and was unnecessary. Remember what you were doing before you traded for Jrue Holiday and before [Khris] Middleton came of age? You weren’t carrying anything to anywhere,” an evidently offended Sharpe fired back via Undisputed.
