James Wiseman will be returning to play next season after missing the entirety of last season due to injury.
Kevon Looney played a huge role in the Golden State Warriors‘ run to another championship. He has been with the Warriors since entering the league and has been a major part of their dynasty.
He recently agreed to a three-year, $25.5 million deal with the Warriors. It is likely that he will be again the starting center of the team. Looney is just 26 years old, and he still has a lot of years ahead of him.
Many believed that Looney would be leaving the team after this season. This was due to various reasons. One of them was James Wiseman. The Warriors drafted James Wiseman with the 2nd overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
He has shown glimpses of his excellence, but injuries have stunted his progress. Wiseman didn’t play a single game last year, but he’ll be healthy for the next season. With Looney coming back, it seems like Wiseman will be playing from the bench instead of being a starter like he was for most of his rookie season.
James Wiseman would have been very disappointed with the fact that he was unable to contribute at all in a season where his team won the championship. He saw other young players making an impact, but due to his injury, he wasn’t able to.
However, next season he’ll get the chance to prove a lot of people wrong. Many people criticize the Warriors for picking him over LaMelo Ball, and he’ll have to shut down all those critics. He is the type of player that can make a huge difference next season for the Warriors, as they’ll need a big body like him to contend for another championship.
