What happened between Kevin Love and Desmond Bane during the Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat’s meeting?
The Memphis Grizzlies went up against the Miami Heat at the Miami-Dade Arena on Wednesday night. It was the home team who came out on top in a 138-119 game, and had control of the game throughout the outing courtesy of a 26-point haul from Bam Adebayo who was supported well by Tyler Herro and Jimmy Butler who racked up 24 and 23 points respectively.
However, despite the win, most of the headlines after the game belonged to Heat star Kevin Love who was left on the floor – an incident that preceded an ejection from the court for the Grizzlies’ Desmond Bane. The Grizzlies have developed a bit of a villain for one of the pantomime villains in the NBA, with their trash-talking and rash style of play – and Bane followed his teammate Dillon Brooks in getting ejected after he was adjudged to have committed a Flagrant foul.
Bane was ejected from the game not long after he shocked the Heat’s Kevin Love with a painful blow to the groin.
Bane had the ball and was dribbling around the three-point arc during the third quarter of Wednesday night’s game between his Memphis Grizzlies and the Miami Heat. Love tried to step in front of Bane to draw a charging foul. Bane ended up socking Love down under, with a blow that must have hurt enough to send Love to the floor clutching his groin.
Bane was assessed to have committed a Flagrant 2 foul for the play and was ejected shortly after. Bane had 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists prior to his ejection. Love was signed by the Heat after being bought out of his contract with Cleveland last month. He’s still trying to find his way with his new team, but the Heat have gone 4-2 in their last six games, showing some encouraging signs.
