Here is the potential return date for the injured LA Lakers star Anthony Davis.

A team that was beginning to come together took a hit when the Los Angeles Lakers announced on Sunday morning that their major player, Anthony Davis, would be out for at least a month due to an unspecified right foot injury.

For Wednesday’s game against Sacramento, Davis was listed as out with “right foot soreness,” but the only medical update the team provided was that he skipped shootaround to get treatment.

Later, during the Lakers’ game against Sacramento, a visibly injured Anthony Davis was spotted sitting out.

According to a report from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin on Wednesday morning, the team is still seeking additional medical advice on the best course of action for treating Davis’ undiagnosed and unrevealed injury.

This news is concerning for a Lakers team that had already been struggling to stay afloat in a tough Western Conference.

The All-Star forward, Anthony Davis, suffered the injury during Friday’s game against the Denver Nuggets. Immediately after the injury, AD was unable to return after being forced to leave the game early in the first half due to a right foot injury.

“AD is still being evaluated. He’s still working his way through the woods on that one,” Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said of Davis’ injury. (via Spectrum).

However, what is most concerning is the Lakers’ attitude about AD’s injury. The Lakers have remained tight-lipped about Davis’ injury, possibly because they are still unsure of its exact severity.

Meanwhile, on his Monday podcast episode, Brian Windhorst of ESPN revealed what he knew about AD’s injury, which isn’t much but still raises some eyebrows.

“It’s not a sprained ankle. It’s not a sprained foot. It’s something a little bit more concerning than that.”

If we were to speculate on the injury of Davis, we could be talking about broken bones or, in the worst case, a Lisfranc injury if it is not a sprained ankle or foot. This most recent injury prevented Chet Holmgren from playing the rest of the season.

LeBron James remains positive about Anthony Davis and the Lakers

The injury of Davis is obviously a major setback for the Lakers, but LeBron James remains optimistic about Davis. LBJ promises to remain competitive and is focused on the playoffs spot as of now. He also wishes well for AD.

“It’s definitely disappointing to see him have to go through it. Especially the work that he’s put into it. Doesn’t cheat the game. Shows up, prepares himself, goes out and, obviously, he’s been dominant this year. To have this setback right now — I know it can be tough on him, for sure. Just trying whatever I can to keep his mind fresh,” James shared recently.

“A minor setback before a major comeback. We’re going to try and hold down the fort for as long as we can until we get our number one guy back. I hope he just has a clear mind and takes his time and understands that it’s just temporary.” (via Clutch points)

The Lakers are 13-18 this season, and recently things started to look good for them. However, with AD out of the roster for maybe more than a month, things will be again difficult for the Lakers.
