On the date of November 9, 2021, Las Vegas Aces star, Candace Parker tweeted the future performance of four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry.
“Steph is gona have 50 tonight…. Anytime you play against a young protégé you gotta let ‘em know”, tweeted Parker.
The most eye-grabbing part of Parker’s tweet was this – “anytime you play against a young protégé you gotta let em know,” So, who is this ‘young protégé?’
The ‘young protégé’ answer was simple; at the time of Parker’s tweet, Golden State Warriors were facing the Atlanta Hawks. Hawks have their own star guard, Trae Young, who is often referred to as Curry’s ‘protégé.’
Candace Parker hence referred to Trae Young as the young protégé of Steph Curry.
Did Stephen Curry really have a 50-point game like Candace Parker predicted?
Believe it or not, Stephen Curry actually had a 50-point game, making Parker’s prediction come true.
In that particular game night against Atlanta Hawks, Stephen Curry finished the game with 50 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds. At that point in time, it was 33-year-old Steph’s season-high score.
He completed the scoreline by finishing 14-for-28 from the field, 9-for-19 from 3-point range, and 13-for-13 from the free throw line in 35 minutes.
Meanwhile, Curry’s protégé, Trae Young, had just 28 points, nine assists, and three rebounds.
