LeBron James made his NBA debut on the 25th of October 2003 against the Sacramento Kings
Most fans don’t remember how LeBron James‘ NBA debut went. Although a lot of fans may remember he won rookie of the year, not many remember his first game. James’ first NBA game was on the 25th of October 2003 against the Sacramento Kings. LeBron James lived up to the hype with a 25 point, 9 assist, 6 rebound and 4 steal masterclass.
It was all for nought as the Cavaliers lost to the Kings in a not-so-close 92-106 game. The Cavaliers missed the playoffs for the 2003-04 season and ended up with a 35-47 record. Although the Cavaliers missed the playoffs, LeBron James helped the team improve by 18 wins.
James finished his rookie season with averages of 20.9 points, 5.9 assists and 5.5 rebounds and won the rookie of the year award.
The Cavaliers had transformed from a bottom team in the East to a potential playoff team in James’ first season. This added to LeBron James’ hype with many analysts predicting that James would become a superstar.
LeBron James has indeed won an NBA Championship with the Cleveland Cavaliers. James led the Cavaliers to the NBA title in the 2016 NBA Playoffs beating the Golden State Warriors 4-3. This was a historic win for the Cavaliers as they won their first NBA Championship and became the first team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the NBA Finals.
The 2016 NBA championship with the Cavaliers is probably the biggest moment of James’ career. The odds were stacked so heavily in the Warriors favour and the Cavaliers managed to overcome that. LeBron James was a true leader during that series and showed his value as an all-time great.
