As it turns out, Curry brought out his signature celebration for the first time during the 2021/22 NBA Play-Offs.
It was during the first round of the Western Conference Play-Off game between the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets, when Steph Curry debuted the celebration as we know it now. It was right after he hit a tough lay up on the 2021/22 regular season MVP Nikola Jokic, that Curry brought out the then unnamed celebration – Curry simply described it as “putting his opponents to sleep.”
However, it was when the celebration became a common occurrence during the 2021/22 Play-Offs which the Warriors eventually went on to win – that Curry trademarked his celebration as the “Night Night” celebration as we know it now.
