Giannis Antetokounmpo’s current 5-year supermax contract will end after the 2025-26 NBA season
Giannis Antetokounmpo signed his current 5-year $228.2 million contract just before the beginning of the 2020-21 NBA season. Antetokounmpo still had one year left on his previous contract. This means that he was signed with the Milwaukee Bucks for 6 years beginning in 2020.
The last year of Antetokounmpo’s deal is a player option. Giannis can opt out of the final year of his contract and leave after the 2024-25 NBA season. It does not seem likely that Giannis will leave as long as the Bucks stay competitive.
The Milwaukee Bucks won the NBA Championship for the 2020-21 NBA season. This has cemented his legacy and will most likely keep him in Milwaukee for the rest of his career. The Bucks will get an extension done before letting the current Giannis Antetokounmpo contract end.
Antetokounmpo has always wanted to win with the Bucks. This hasn’t changed even after winning an NBA title. Giannis is hungry for more winning and wants to do it in Milwaukee.
Will the Milwaukee Bucks win the NBA Championship this season?
Although this season looks to be extremely close, the Bucks will be a huge competitor. Many analysts believe the Bucks will be the first seed in the East or a close second. That is extremely likely with a team that has Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday as their big-3.
Besides this, the Bucks have Bobby Portis and P.J. Tucker who will play big roles as well. The Bucks will win a lot of regular season games but the playoffs will be a different situation.
If the team can stay healthy and Giannis dominates, they have a great chance at winning the title this season. The Bucks will be a team to look out for this season with the Eastern Conference looking stacked.
