Where does LeBron James rank in the all-time chart for the most assists in NBA history?

LeBron James is in his own right, one of the best players in the game and one of the greatest to ever step foot in the NBA. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar has had a legendary career packed with a team and individual accolades including four NBA Championships, four MVP awards and 15 All-Star selections, and has broken multiple NBA records along the way.

LeBron James in action for the Lakers

While LeBron became the first ever NBA player to rack up 10,000 points, rebounds, and assists last season, he is currently playing in his 20th season in the NBA – and recently became only the second player ever to score 38,000 career points in the NBA. This most recent accolade means LeBron is closing in on the long-standing all-time scoring record of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

While it would cement his legendary status, it also would simply be another record added to a glorious career. LeBron is the only active NBA superstar to be in the top 10 all-time lists for points as well as assists – while he is second on the all-time list for points, LeBron is currently fourth in the all-time list for assists with a total assist tally of 10,338 across his long career.

With his latest performance against the New York Knicks where he racked up 28 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists for the Los Angeles Lakers, the 38-year-old overtook Steve Nash to take up fourth position in the all-time list for most assists recorded in NBA history.

Who are the other names on the all-time NBA assist charts?

While LeBron occupies fourth place on the star-studded list, the rest of the list is also filled with incredible talent.
