Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to emulate Tim Duncan in retirement and move to a place where nobody recognizes him

In a recent interview, Giannis Antetokounmpo talked about his plans after retiring from the NBA. Giannis said that after retirement he wants to live a quiet life like Tim Duncan. He elaborated by recalling a tri he’d taken to Sweden 2 years ago and he was pleasantly shocked that nobody recognized him.

When people in Sweden saw Giannis they’d walk past without taking notice of him. This enabled him to move around more freely and enjoy the experience.

This Giannis Antetokounmpo retirement take is quite interesting. Most NBA players like to stay in the spotlight and pursue careers in coaching or the media. Giannis openly said that he does not want to be a celebrity like Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Jordan.

He elaborated by saying that he wants to play the game and when he retires he wants people to forget him. The aim is to disappear and live a quiet retired life.
