Kevin Durant was interestingly not even in the Top 20 NBA all time scoring list when the 2022-23 season began. Now, with just 34 games into the current season, he has moved past 5-time NBA Champion Tim Duncan to secure the 15th spot in the same list.

Heading into the gameday against Cleveland Cavaliers with 26,496 points, Durant was only 13 points behind Duncan. However, the former MVP, who continues to establish his dominance in his 15th year in the NBA dropped 32 points not only to secure his place above Tim Duncan but even stretch his team’s winning run to 9 games, tied with Cavs for the 3rd spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

Kevin Durant’s latest place in the all time scoring list saw his finish the night on 10-of18 shooting from the field. Along with his 9 rebounds and 5 assists as the Brooklyn Nets eased past Cleveland Cavaliers 125-117.

Kevin Durant surpasses Tim Duncan in all time scoring list

It is remarkable to note how KD and Kyrie Irving have changed the momentum in Brooklyn. After a lackluster start, which made everyone feel like things were extensively required to be changed, these two modern-day greats have shown their ‘A-Game’ game-after-game-after-game.

Moreover, it was in November when Kevin surpassed Vince after for the 19th spot, and within no time he has managed to surpass San Antonio Spurs legend and Hall of Famer Tim Duncan for the 15th spot. Guess, that is just why he is deemed by many as the underrated GOAT.
