He played high school basketball for the Mount Vernon Knights and helped lead the team to the 2000 New York State Public and Federation Championships.
Before turning professional and joining the NBA, Gordon played college basketball for the University of Connecticut. While playing in college, Gordon won the 2004 national championship with UConn.
Furthermore, in the 2004 NBA Draft, Gordon was selected third overall by the Chicago Bulls.
Gordon played for eleven seasons in the NBA, from 2004 to 2017. He has played for teams like Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Bobcats, and Orlando Magic. He last played for the Texas Legends.
