Los Angeles Lakers stunned the world of the NBA when they beat a start-studded Miami heat on Wednesday Night 112-109 at home. While the home team was without LeBron James and Anthony Davis – two of their best players, it was Dennis Schroder, Thomas Bryant, and Russell Westbrook who came up big with their clutch play in the fourth quarter which enables the purple and gold to win three consecutive games for only the second time this season.
The Lakers need to boost their confidence to win games without AD or LeBron on the floor. The problem with Darvin Ham’s team is not able to support their marquee stars as each player was restricted in their own respective role until now. The same was acknowledged by sports media personality – Skip Bayless.
But first, let me bring everyone on the same page – Dennis dropped his season-best 32 points. Out of which 14 were scored solely in the fourth quarter. Thomas Bryant and Russell Westbrook dropped 21 points each, respectively. The former player, who was replacing Anthony Davis in the side, scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter.
Skip Bayless reveals true feelings on Lakers
Bayless stated, “This was the biggest shocker of the year. In some ways, this was the best game the Lakers have played start to finish, without one or the other. But you are also without Lonnie Walker. That’s a lot of points, a lot of just pure talent that you don’t have. But what stung me last night was I saw a supporting cast that could make you better than LeBron seemed to think when they lost to Miami at Miami.
“Dennis Schroder has had the weirdest NBA journey as you know, he was really good for Lakers as he was really good for the Hawks. He thought he had a better shot on open market and he has to crawl back to Lakers on minimum kind of money. Now he is playing like a guy who deserves a big contract. Dennis Schroder was big time last night.”
