Shaquille O’Neal and Shaunie O’Neal got divorced in 2011 with rumours popping up that it was due to Shaq’s infidelity

Why did Shaq get divorced? People asked this question when Shaquille O’Neal divorced his now ex-wife Shaunie Henderson. Shaq married Shaunie in 2002 and everything seemed fine for the first few years. The issues began to surface when Shaq filed for divorce in 2007 stating that his wife wasn’t being honest with him about her finances. The couple seemingly worked out their differences and decided to try and make the marriage work. Shaq withdrew his divorce notice and the couple got back together.

In 2009 Shaunie filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The couple went ahead with the divorce this time and it was finalized in 2011. This time the rumours around the divorce were mainly based on Shaq’s infidelity. It seems that Shaq was unfaithful during the marriage and that was the breaking point for Shaunie. Shaq appeared on the Pivot Podcast in April this year and seemingly accepted all the blame for the divorce.

“I’ve never talked about this, and I’m glad you guys asked because I don’t mind talking about this, but I was bad,” Shaq said. “She was awesome. She really was. It was all me.”
