“Why does Magic tweet like a 2nd grader?” – Fans don’t take to Magic Johnson’s excited tweet regarding Patrick Beverley trade

Patrick Beverley’s trade to the Los Angeles Lakers has got the entire NBA community talking about it on social media, and NBA legend Magic Johnson became the latest to comment on it.

The former NBA superstar who played for the Los Angeles Lakers over two spells as well as managed them from the sidelines went on his Twitter to share his opinion about Beverley joining his former team.

However, fans were not too kind to the NBA legend with their reactions. The 63-year-old Johnson who was, in his prime, one of the best players in NBA history in his own right gave his opinion about the former Utah Jazz superstar joining the Lakers this summer.

Johnson tweeted: “I used to hate Patrick Beverley when he played against my Lakers lol but now I love him because he’s on our team and he’s going to help my Lakers get to the playoffs!”

The quote got plenty interactions from the NBA community online as the NBA legend was only celebrating signing one of the best guards in the game, but not everyone was kind to him.

What reactions did the tweet attract from the fans?

Johnson’s tweet was not too famous amongst the NBA faithful, who ripped into the Hall of Famer for his manner of typing.

While one fan asked “Why does Magic tweet like a 2nd grader?“, another asked “Why you speaking like you at gun point, bro?” – referring to the robotic and emotionless way Magic got his point across.

While one fan was nonchalant enough to tweet “Magic, please hire someone to vet your tweets bro” – another asked “Why you tweet like you’re reading a script?” much to the amusement of other fans on social media as the replies went viral in next to no time.

Regardless of their reactions to Magic’s tweet, the Lakers faithful across the world are certainly buzzing to see their new man as they will try to reclaim the NBA Championship ring in the coming season.
