Stephen A Smith was very loud and clear regarding what he thinks of the whole Kevin Durant saga involving him and the Nets.
Kevin Durant’s request to be traded rocked the NBA community as a whole. It is anticipated that a team will need to make the largest offer in NBA history in order to acquire Durant. It is one of the key causes for the lack of a definite favorite to get KD.
The saga between the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant continues to go on. So far no medium ground is reached between both parties, and we are just months away from a new season.
Recently, Stephen A Smith gave his brutally honest assessment regarding Kevin Durant’s saga. He thinks that the Nets should not trade him at any cost this season.
Stephen A talked about the things Nets owner Joe Tsai did for Durant and said, “I got Kyrie here because of you. James Harden because of you. Steve Nash! No experience. Never even coached high school. Didn’t coach high school, Didn’t coach college. Didn’t coach pros, but you want to him as your head coach.”

Even though SAS still believes that KD is the best player in the world, he didn’t shy away from taking the side of the Nets owner Joe Tsai in this saga.
Talking about it, he added, “ I’m Joe Tsai, I’ve given you every damn thing you want it. You can give me a championship run legitimately with all of y’all on the court together. Y’all only played about 29 games together. I mean, give me a break. I haven’t gotten a return on my investment and then you commit last summer to a 4-year $198 million deal that came on top of the $164 million.“
Stephen A Smith further added, “Last time I checked, $198 million, $164 million, that’s about $361 million. Okay, that’s what I paid you and all I got to show for it is one playoff victory because you want to bounce? What? Not even one day on the contract, you asked him to be traded because the contract kicks in now. You ain’t going no damn place. You’re gonna stay your a*s right here.“
KD’s final destination isn’t certain yet. Despite that, the media doesn’t want to see him leaving Brooklyn because that will show how weak the NBA owners are.
If Kevin Durant is able to get himself traded with four years left on his idea, then in the future other players will also look to do the same. Due to it, this whole saga could have long-term implications on the league.
