No. 1 overall draft pick Paolo Banchero went head to head with Keegan Murray and emerged victorious in the Summer League.
Paolo Banchero has been proving to people why he was the 1st overall pick in this year’s draft. He has played quite well so far in the summer league and has justified the Orlando Magic’s decision to draft him over Jabari Smith.
In the second game against the Sacramento Kings, Banchero led his team to another impressive win. He went toe-to-toe with Kings rookie Keegan Murray. Keegan himself has been balling out in the summer league and is looking like a solid addition for the Sacramento Kings.
Paolo Banchero against the Kings ended up with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals. He was crucial for his team in the clutch. On the other hand, Keegan Murray also had a great game. He scored 20 points and had 9 rebounds along with 6 assists. This year’s rookie class is very talented, and so far all of them have balled out.
The Orlando Magic already has a great group of young players. The inclusion of Paolo Banchero is an exciting addition to their team. Now they have a young core of Paolo, Jalen Suggs, Cole Anthony, Mo Bamba, Jonathan Isaac, Franz Wagner, and Markelle Fultz.
As a result, this team could turn out to be very good in a couple of seasons. Their foundation is set, and some good moves can make them a playoff contender pretty soon. When Paolo, Franz, and Jalen Suggs will be fully developed, they’ll be a pretty solid trio.
