Shannon Sharpe brought up the example of Stephen Curry while defending LeBron James for not taking the pay cut.
LeBron James recently signed another contract extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite rumors surrounding his future, LeBron James decided to stay with the Lakers.
He didn’t take a pay cut and that has brought up some people to criticize his decision to not help his team. One of them was Skip Bayless. However, Shannon Sharpe came into LeBron’s defense and claimed that the Lakers star did the right thing by not taking a pay cut.
He also brought up the name of Stephen Curry, as the Warriors star also never took a pay cut and has been successful with his team throughout the last decade.
Shannon Sharpe said, “What you’ve tried to do is because other guys have done it by taking less money that’s automatically, Steph Curry never took less money how many he got?
Skip Bayless replied, “Well, he’s got a really good GM.” Shannon answered, “Okay, see? So in other words the GM, if you do your job I don’t have to take less money. Steph Curry’s the only man that’s gotten two contracts over 200 million…”
The NFL Hall of Famer is certainly right. The Lakers’ front office needs to do a better job in order to make the team a championship contender.
