The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 127-117 on opening night as the new NBA season finally began. The reigning Eastern Conference champions were able to hold out the tough challenge from the 76ers even without their head coach Ime Udoka, who is suspended for the entire season.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown were the stars of the night as the duo scored 35 points each to lead their team to a huge win to start the new season on a high note.
Jaylen Brown who was involved in trade rumors regarding the acquisition of Kevin Durant ultimately ended up staying in Boston and showed everyone why he is one of the best players in the world.
On the other hand, Jayson Tatum continued his path to the top of the game as he is likely to be in MVP conversations this season. Tatum shot 13/20 from the field to score 35 points and had 12 rebounds to his name as well.
