“They weren’t there when I was on the floor and couldn’t walk”- Ben Simmons claps back at his critics after a poor start to the season

Ben Simmons talked about how he feels about the critics who have been doubting him throughout this season.

Ben Simmons’ move to the Brooklyn Nets hasn’t been fruitful yet for him. After missing the entirety of last season due to a back injury, the former 76ers player is dealing with knee discomfort this season.

Recently, Ben Simmons spoke to the Atheltic and Shams Charania and gave his view on the situation surrounding him this season. He is still recovering from the injuries and is optimistic to return back to his usual self.

Talking about it, Ben Simmons said, “You’re obviously not gonna be happy when anybody’s out,” Simmons told The Athletic. “But for me, I’ve been dealing with the knee since the start of the season. It’s been swollen. I had PRP (injections). I had blood drained a couple times. So it’s not a made up thing, you know? It’s a real thing.”

He added, “There’s only so much I can really do (about perception). You can’t make people believe, you know? They weren’t there when I was on the floor and couldn’t walk. They weren’t there when I was in the ambulance getting taken to the hospital.”

The Brooklyn Nets want Ben Simmons to be fully healthy and play up to his max potential. The idea of having him, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving on the court at the same time can reap a championship for this Nets group, but its going to be tough.
