Famous analyst Skip Bayless wants LeBron James to do what Tom Brady did in order to win another NBA Championship.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is eligible to sign a new 2-year extension with the Lakers. He will be expected to earn around $97 million in the next two years.
It is very likely that LeBron will be signing that deal because he likes living in LA. Despite the team’s failure to acquire good talent, it is assumed that LeBron James will be staying.
Regarding the extension, famous sports analyst Skip Bayless presented a great idea for King James moving forward. He said, “I’m Here to Suggest Once More There’s One Move That Lebron Could Make That Could Maximize His Ability to Win One More Championship…”
He added, “This Extension Is the Max Will Be Two Years It’s Almost a Hundred Ninety-Seven Ninety Seven So So Let’s Call It Fifty Million a Year It’s What Aaron Rodgers Makes Okay What if You Went to the Lakers Today And You Said Hey Let’s Redo This Right Here Right Now And I Will Take 25 Million and 25 Million For the Next Two Years I’ll Take About Half of What I Should Get To Allow You More Room to Roam Salary Cap Wise to Maximize My Ability to Win
Tom Brady is widely considered the greatest of all time when it comes to football. LeBron James, on the other hand, wants to emulate the same in basketball. As a result, Skip Bayless wants the Lakers star to follow what the Bucs quarterback did throughout his career.
Skip Bayless said, “My Two Glaring Examples for You You Just Mentioned Number One Was Tom Brady He’s Done This for Years Yeah for Years I Just Look Back This Morning Starting In 2015 Obviously Still in New England He Took 13 Million Dollars Well It Was Just It Was Laughably Low and Then 2016 14.3, 2017 Only 15. 2018 15 2019. Now We’re Starting to Get Toward Tampa But 23 Then 28 Last Year It Was 39 Million Which Is Pretty Good.”
He added, “This Year He’s Scheduled to Make 30 Million but I’m Saying Pro Football Focus Graded Him as The Number One Quarterback in the League Last Year Aaron Makes 50 a Year On Average, and Tom’s Scheduled This Year to Make 30 Million So He’s Taking Effectively 20 Million Less Than Market Value…”
By taking a pay cut Tom Brady has always helped his team to bring in elite talent around him. Similarly, LeBron James can do it and free up some space in the salary cap. The Lakers can make some exciting additions with that space, and that will help them to contend for a championship.
Recently James Harden did the same, and Tim Duncan had already done it in his career. It will be interesting to see if LeBron actually decides to take a pay cut in order to help his team.
The Los Angeles Lakers were pretty bad last season. The decision to bring in Russell Westbrook didn’t work out for them and as a result, they are already looking to part ways with each other.
With Kyrie Irving’s name continuously linked with the Lakers, Westbrook’s exit is almost certain. If the Lakers are able to get Irving via trade, then Westbrook is likely to be a part of the deal.
LeBron James’ extension will also depend on how the Lakers do business in the market. If they are not able to bring in talent for LeBron, we might see him leaving for another team as he wants to win another championship.
