The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets in a convincing manner to win their first game of this season.
The Los Angeles Lakers finally won their first game of the season as they defeated the Denver Nuggets last night 121-110. It was also the first win of Darvin Ham’s career as a head coach in the NBA.
It was a complete game by the Los Angeles Lakers where they defended well as usual and also stepped up while shooting the ball in front of their home fans. LeBron James led the way for the Los Angeles Lakers, as he ended up with 26 points while Anthony Davis also scored 23 points. Russell Westbrook also had a great game coming off the bench and he contributed with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Speaking after the win, Darvin Ham said, “Tonight, we needed to prove something to ourselves. Not to the world. Not to the media. We had to prove it to ourselves, and I felt great about how we responded.”
He added, “I just think the ball had a little pop to it. Guys were penetrating, kicking, finding open shooters, and guys didn’t hesitate. I’ve been saying it since Day 1: Shots are going to fall. Our offense is going to catch up to our defense.”
Hopefully, the Lakers will be able to convert this win into a winning streak, as they prepare to face the New Orleans Pelicans up next on Wednesday.
