Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Lakers are looking for blockbuster players in the transfer market, Jeremy Grant is linked with the Hawks
Los Angeles Lakers had already shown some solid interest in acquiring Jeremy Grant but the Pistons’ asking price proved too heavy for the Lakers. At the same time, Grant’s preference to be the primary offensive player in the team couldn’t have been fulfilled given the presence of AD and LeBron James.
Now as per fresh rumors, Atlanta Hawks have shown interest in trading Jeremy Grant. They might part ways with John Collins and add Grant as a forward option in the team. The 2021 conference finalist Hawks have been playing well after a rocky start to the season.
They have won 5 games in a row, scoring above 115 points per game. 2022 All-Star Starter, Trae Young has found his form and made huge plays in the season in recent times. So the front office is looking to make some adjustments in the team before the trade deadline, to make their position stronger for and in the postseason.
Jeremy Grant an upgrade or downgrade for Atlanta Hawks?
Collins averages 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block for the Hawks this season. The 24-year forward has huge potential but the Hawks might be looking for a bit of experience on the floor to close out the games for them.
But if we compare two players’ offenses, the budding prodigy looks a better option for any team. He has a better shooting percentage (49% from field and 37% beyond the arc), Also he is a regular starter for the team, healthier, and already has good chemistry within the team. Also, contract-wise both players fetch around the US $20 million. (Collins gets $24 million)
