NBA Trade Rumors: “Talen Horton-Tucker appears to be the biggest trade chip for Los Angeles Lakers”

Los Angeles Lakers are desperate to make move in the trade market, though they only have Talen Horton Tucker as their best trade chip this season

NBA trade deadline is getting closer and the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers are yet to make any significant move in the market. They were bookies one of the favorite teams to challenge for the championship this season but teams’ performance led them to a play-in situation rather than top 3 spots.

LeBron James is still performing at the highest level, proving that he is still one of the best players in the league. But he is 37 now and requires potent support to win the NBA Championship. This forced Lakers to go for a quick makeover, and an effective player trade could turn the table around for them.

Unfortunately for Los Angeles Lakers though, they have very limited assets to deal upon. With young core and draft pick already traded in Westbrook deal, Lakers will now look to shop on Talen Horton-Tucker, the only high-value young player left on the roster.

Los Angeles Lakers trade options for Talen Horton-Tucker

With very limited quality rotation in the front-court, the Lakers will be looking to shake things up in those positions. They have already extended a 10-day contract with Stanley Johnson, but he is probably not a permanent solution for the team.

Due to Davis’ injury, poor performances from Jordan, and Howard, the Lakers will check on this seasons’ proven front-court players. Jeremy Grant (Detroit Pistons), Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers), and Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings) are some possible options to provide front-court support in the game.

As for Jeremy Grant, he wants to be the primary offensive player in the team, which would not fit in the Lakers game-play. Anthony Davis, LeBron James plays much of the offense and Grant might get 3rd choice for the shots considering Westbrook on-court production.

Myles Turner is also playing at a high level and could be profitable addition o the team. But his recent injury raises concerns as a big man with a foot injury. This might keep Turner out of question.

Only Harrison Barnes seems to be a tangible option for the Lakers. Now, it depends on the Kings to decide whether they go for a two-team or multi-team trade. We have to wait for the finished deals or till the trade deadline to see how far the Lakers go for the quick upgrades.
