The Brooklyn Nets led by Kevin Durant blew out the New York Knicks to hand Jacque Vaughn his first win as the Nets’ head coach.
The Brooklyn Nets bounced back from their loss to the Dallas Mavericks in their previous game with a resounding 112-85 victory over the New York Knicks. With this win, the Nets improved their record to 5-7. Kevin Durant, who was playing for the Nets and was motivated to play well, scored 29 points and recorded a triple-double while leading his team to victory.
It was Jacque Vaughn’s first game as the permanent head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, and the players on the team gave it their all in order to secure a victory over the raucous Knicks. After parting ways with Steve Nash, it appears that Vaughn has given this team a new identity, as evidenced by Kevin Durant’s outstanding performance, and by the fact that Vaughn has done so.
After the game, Kevin Durant congratulated his new head coach Jacque Vaughn for his first-ever win as the permanent head coach of the Nets. KD said, “The interim tag is gone. Head Coach, first win. Congratulations.”
The Nets are looking good defensively with Vaughn and they’ll hope that Kyrie Irving will be able to join this team sooner than later as they want to win a championship this season.
