Tua Tagovailoa once again suffered a concussion during the loss to the Green Bay Packers and he might miss the next game.
Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback for the Miami Dolphins, is currently participating in the NFL’s concussion protocol, as confirmed by head coach Mike McDaniel during a press conference held on Monday. As a result, Tagovailoa’s availability for the crucial Week 17 game against the New England Patriots is currently unknown.
Tagovailoa, who was out for Weeks 5 and 6 due to a concussion, reported to physicians on Monday that he was experiencing symptoms consistent with a concussion, according to McDaniel.
During the team’s game on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, which they lost 26-20, McDaniel stated that he did not know when Tagovailoa may have sustained a possible concussion. McDaniel added that it was unclear at this stage whether or not Tagovailoa had in fact sustained a concussion, despite the fact that he is exhibiting signs of having done so.
This is not the first time that Tagovailoa has had to go through the league’s concussion protocol this season. The Dolphins quarterback left the game early in the first half of their Week 3 victory against the Bills with an injury that was first reported by Miami as a head injury. After missing the first half of the game, Tagovailoa came back to start the second half and finish off the victory.
Tagovailoa, who is 24 years old and was selected fifth overall in the 2020 draught, is now playing for the Miami Dolphins in his third season with the team. This season, Tagovailoa has thrown for a career-high 3,548 yards and a total of 25 touchdowns while completing 259 of 400 passes (or 64.8%).
