Let us know what Dave Chappelle said in his “Sticks and Stones” special about King James and transgenders.

A major problem that the WNBA is facing

The WNBA is widely known to be a professional basketball league for professional women’s basketball players. Further, founded in 1997, the WNBA is said to be a strong counterpart of the NBA.

However, in recent years, the WNBA has had its fair share of controversies. For quite some time WNBA players have a major complaint. The WNBA players have time and again expressed their frustration because they are not happy with the amount of money they earn. The pay disparity is so huge that the highest-paid player in the WNBA earns about 1/10th of what a rookie gets on signing to an NBA team.

However, there are reasons as to why the pay is so low. In WNBA games, there is low attendance and the quality of the play is not of that level. All these factors equates to less business which means the income is low hence equating to less money and less salary for the players.

The WNBA players do not mention this above topic in their pay disparity protests. But they believe that their level of play is comparable to the NBA.

On the other hand, in most areas of our society, the integration and representation of transgendered people and its activities have begun. But in the case of sports, the scene is a little different.

So, there are two major problems in the WNBA. The pay disparity and the integration of transgender people.

Dave Chappelle dragged LeBron James into a transgender joke

In his stand-up special, “Sticks and Stones”, Dave Chappelle added a joke that pointed out the lack of quality play in the WNBA and how Trans athletes gain an unfair advantage in sports.

“Say LeBron James changed his gender… can he stay in the NBA or because he’s a woman does he have to go to the WNBA where he will score 840 points a game. If women are equal to men then there wouldn’t be no WNBA, would there? You would just be good enough to play in the NBA with us.” said Chappelle in his comedy special.

The joke by Chappelle has garnered mixed reactions from all over the Internet. Some people have taken it as a joke while some people ripped into Chappelle calling the joke offensive and majorly stereotypical.
