What zoo animal is scared of NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal (Shaq)?
Shaquille O’Neal is widely regarded as one of the best players to ever step on a basketball court. The legendary center who is also an NBA Hall of Famer played for almost two decades in the NBA, turning out for franchises such as the Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics – winning four NBA Championships.
The former regular season as well as Finals’ MVP enjoyed an incredible career in the NBA where he made a name for himself as one of the most dominant players in the game. Combining size, strength and speed into an incredible physical profile, Shaq was infamous for being one of the most feared superstars of the NBA on his day – an incredibly difficult player to play against.
While many players of his day and age feared the NBA Hall of Famer in his prime courtesy of the legend standing at 7 feet and 325 pounds, it has come to attention that not just people are scared of one of the biggest men in NBA history. It has been revealed that even after retirement, Shaq continued to instil fear into the hearts of living beings – which happens to be a zoo animal.
Shaq was recently trending on the news after a video said that gorillas happen to freak out when he shows up at zoos.
During an episode of “Impaulsive” from last year hosted by social media influencer Logan Paul, the former NBA big man explained that gorillas freak out when he shows up at zoos and that they want to fight him. Shaq even called an executive from Zoo Miami during the podcast who confirmed the tale.
Shaquille O’Neal“True story. I’ve been to every zoo in the world, and every time I go to the gorilla section, they look at me like, ‘Hey man, where your fur at?’ For real. That’s how they look at me. They also look at me like, ‘What am I doing in here and you out there?’ And they always go crazy when they see me. They’re intimidated. They want to fight me.”
Shaq called the animal expert Ron Magill, the communications director for Zoo Miami, who corroborated the story and confirmed that the animals do indeed want to fight Shaq.
