Darius Garland got injured in the first game of the season and hasn’t played since then as his team continues to perform.
Darius Garland, an All-Star point guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, has been sidelined for the past three games due to an injury to his left eye. Despite this, Garland took part in the Cavaliers’ shootaround on Wednesday.
Goggles were worn by Garland while he participated in shooting drills during the morning session of practice. The cut that was found under the left eyelid of the player who is 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs 192 pounds will not be treated until it has healed, according to the coach J.B. Bickerstaff.
Garland has not played for Cleveland since the first game of the season, which took place in Toronto, where he was injured after being poked in the eye by Raptors guard Gary Trent Jr. After suffering an injury, he returned to the court for the first time for the shootaround.
At Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the Cavaliers defeated the Orlando Magic by a score of 103-92 on their home court. On the bench with the rest of his teammates, Garland wore a pair of dark sunglasses and sat down. When they travel to Boston on Friday, Garland’s participation in the game is still up in the air.
Garland, who finished the previous season with a rookie-maximum contract after averaging 21.7 points and 8.6 assists per game, inked the extension in July. This contract is the richest in the history of the franchise, with a total value of $193 million over 5 years.
