Where is Jordan Goodwin headed off to? Learn all there is to know as the NBA star is being traded away to a significant team.
Recent reports have suggested that the Washington Wizards are trading Jordan Goodwin and Bradley Beal to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for Landry Shamet, Chris Paul, multiple second-round picks and multiple pick swaps.
Josh Robbins of The Athletic first reported that the Suns will get some unexpected extra depth in their trade for Bradley Beal from the Washington Wizards. Goodwin has reportedly been informed he’s being included in the deal and being sent to the Suns. In 62 games (seven starts) with the Wizards, Goodwin averaged 6.6 points per game on 44.8% shooting from the field.
Phoenix is short on depth, with only six players under contract after this trade. Beal and Goodwin will join Deandre Ayton, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Cameron Payne as the only Suns with contracts for the 2023-24 season, as free agency opens.
Goodwin is likely to be considered a toss-in in this blockbuster trade, but he could prove valuable to Phoenix as a bench piece. In Goodwin, the Suns are getting a potential rotation piece under contract for only $1.9 million next season, plus a team option for 2024-25. In his second year as a pro, he averaged 6.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 17.8 minutes per game across 62 contests.
