The Dallas Mavericks saw an immediate need for another player who can assist Luka Doncic, so they went ahead and sign Kemba Walker. Facundo Campazzo was let go to create a place on the roster for the seasoned guard, and the decision has been made to dismiss him.

After being dismissed by the Detroit Pistons in the middle of October, Walker, 32 years old and has been hampered throughout his career by knee ailments, is presently a free agent. Knee problems have derailed Walker’s career throughout.

Walker has been selected for the All-Star game four times. He spent the previous season with the New York Knicks, appearing in 37 games and averaging 11.6 points and 3.5 assists per game. On the draft night this year, the Knicks parted ways with him and dealt him to the Pistons.

Despite this, Walker has not yet logged a single minute of playing time for the Mavericks. The General Manager of the Mavs, Nico Harrison, provided an update on the status of his newest acquisition. Talking about it, Nico Harrison said, “It’s not good, It’s not good at all. But he’s rehabbed it and it’s the best he’s felt in the last two years so, we’ll see how long that lasts.”
