Stephen A Smith calls this year’s dunk contest the worst of all time
Famous ESPN Analyst Stephen A Smith is quite popular with his hot takes on various sports and when a huge event like the DUNK Contest turns out to be absolute garbage you can expect him to tear it to shreds.
This was the case, as Stephen A Smith on his show First Take went on to rant about this year’s Slam Dunk Contest due to the poor quality shown by the players who were competing in it.
The Dunk Contest every year is the highlight of the All-Star Weekend as fans love watching their favorite players performing acrobatic dunks which they are not allowed to do in the game but this year it was horrible.
Multiple failed dunks by the player turned off everyone’s mood and everyone was fed up with the quality shown in this year’s dunk contest.
Stephen A Smith talked about the horror show of a dunk contest and said, “That was the worst Slam Dunk Contest in the history of basketball, It was a national atrocity, it was awful. Somebody needs to say it, so i”m going to say it. Now I’m happy that a Knick won something, we actually had a New York Knick that won something, that was Obi Toppin, okay? It was so bad that it was actually one of the rare moments where we should actually hide a trophy. We should actually hide the trophy, that’s how bad it was.”
He added, “Here’s where I’ll put it into perspective,” Smith added. “I’m 54 years old, I struggle with bad knees, and guess what, I could have missed that many dunks. You didn’t do anything I couldn’t do. Who can’t miss dunks all the damn time?
