NBA reporter Stefan Brody disagreed with Shaquille O’Neal claiming that a team of Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and himself cannot be defeated.
Shaquille O’Neal is widely considered one of the best players to ever step on a basketball court and one of the best centers to ever play the game. In his prime, Shaquille O’Neal won four NBA Championships including three titles back to back and an MVP award – combining size, strength, and speed into one of the toughest NBA players to go up against.
In his prime, Shaq was virtually unstoppable and extremely hard to go up against – and the NBA Hall of Famer has kept himself relevant even more than a decade after retirement courtesy of spreading his takes and knowledge as an analyst and commentator on NBA talk shows. So when Shaq named his ultimate basketball team, it was certainly going to be a team full of all-timers.
Shaq was recently asked to name his ultimate basketball team, and the Big Aristotle came up with a host of names that – if played together – would be an absolute menace of a team to go up against. Shaq named Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant before naming himself in his ultimate team, and said that the aforementioned team could not be defeated.
“Ain’t nobody beating this team, I don’t care who your match-up is. Yeah, I said it” said Shaq as he named Curry as the point guard, Bryant as the shooting guard, LeBron as the small forward, Kevin Durant as the point forward, and himself as the center. However, not everybody agreed with Shaq’s selection of names, and NBA reporter Stefan Brody took to Twitter to explain why.
Why did the NBA reporter disagree with Shaq’s ultimate team?
Stefan Brody disagreed with Shaq’s team as he claimed that two other legends can indeed beat the team named by Shaq.
Replying to the tweet claiming Shaq’s ultimate team, Brody – a beat reporter for the New York Knicks with the New York Daily News – said that a team with Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson can indeed beat the team named by Shaq. “I dunno I can think of a couple of lineups with Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson”, said Brody as a reply to Shaq’s claim.
Regardless of which team wins, a matchup between Shaq’s team and one featuring Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson would certainly be a match worthy of the big bucks.
