For all the racing game enthusiasts, EA has dropped fantabulous news about the Need For Speed franchise! Electronic Arts have unveiled their next NFS project, Unbound and it will soon be available for PC and consoles this fall. Here is all you need to know about this game before pre-ordering it.
The latest instalment in the Need For Speed franchise is called Unbound and is being developed by Criterion Games. It is the same studio behind some of the hits from this franchise such as NFS: Heat, Hot Pursuit Remastered, and Most Wanted.
This new title will mark an epic return of the Need for Speed franchise to its roots, the thrills of illegal street racing. This game will mostly focus on the single-player campaign and plotline, with the gameplay style being very similar to Most Wanted (2005) and Hot Pursuit (2010). The developers remarked that the previous NFS games had inspired the cop chase sequences. The game will also feature a cel-shaded animation style, bringing a fresh and new look to the series.
As mentioned earlier, the game dives back into the franchise’s root plotline of illegal racing and puts the player in the shoes of a driver vying to win the grand street racing challenge in Lakeshore. Just like every other NFS game, Unbound will also feature several new cars and customisation options like vinyl, paint options, lights, body customisation, etc. Cars from companies like Acura, Aston Martin, Ferrari, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Lamborghini, Mazda, Nissan, McLaren, Lotus, Mercedes, Porsche, Lotus, Volkswagen, Subaru, Volvo, and others are supposed to feature.
Furthermore, famous rapper A$AP Rocky will also be part of this game and bring along his custom black and white Mercedes 190E.
As part of the gameplay, the player will be able to outrun cops while increasing their heat for longer and more rewarding pursuits. The bounty system is very much like the previous NFS games, but it is enhanced with a cinematic feel. In addition, it is important to note that the art style of the game has been improved greatly in this update. The base game will include 143 cars, and additional cars may be added as time goes on.
The game is expected to release on 2 December 2022 for PC and Console devices. Preordering will ensure players with exclusive access to content like driving effects, banner artwork and stickers, license plates, and $150,000 in-game cash for multiplayer. Need For Speed: Unbound is now available for Pre-Order on Steam.
