“Florida Man,” an American limited series created by Donald Todd, is scheduled to stream soon. The series has an impressive lineup of executive producers, such as Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan, and Miguel Arteta. Édgar Ramírez stars as an ex-cop returning to his home state of Florida to investigate a case, alongside notable actors like Anthony LaPaglia, Abbey Lee, Otmara Marrero, Lex Scott Davis, Emory Cohen, and Isaiah Johnson in prominent roles. The production took place in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The origins of the well-known “Florida Man” meme are explored in the upcoming Netflix limited series “Florida Man,” as revealed by its creator and executive producer, Donald Todd.
Todd believes that the state’s unpredictable nature, being a thin layer of land over water, has contributed to the independence and defiance of its inhabitants. The series focuses on an ex-cop, played by Edgar Ramírez, as he navigates the unique and strange aspects of Florida.
Although it seems that “Florida Man” is inspired by the infamous memes, the upcoming series is not directly based on any particular headline. It’s a fictional narrative that follows ex-cop Mike Valentine, who is reluctantly sent to Florida to retrieve Delly.
He plans to leave the state forever once the job is done. However, he soon finds himself caught up in a web of crimes and secrets from his past, making his escape more difficult than he ever imagined. The show features plenty of action, including explosions, fights, guns, and even a woman using a flamethrower on a raccoon.
In short, Valentine becomes embroiled in the unpredictable chaos of Florida and will face an uphill battle to rescue Delly and escape with his life.
Starring in the upcoming limited series “Florida Man,” Édgar Ramírez takes on the lead role of Mike Valentine. Otmara Marrero appears as his sister, Patsy, and Anthony LaPaglia as their father, Sonny. Isabel Gameros portrays Patsy’s daughter, Tyler, while Abbey Lee plays Delly West, the girlfriend of a mobster.
Emory Cohen stars as Moss Yankov, Delly’s partner and Valentine’s boss. Lex Scott Davis takes on the role of Iris, Valentine’s ex-wife and a detective. Additionally, Clark Gregg and Paul Schneider have recurring roles, and Isaiah Johnson and Sibongile Mlambo appear as motel owners Benny and Clara.
The series is all set to hit the screens on April 13 via Netflix. The first teaser release got positive reviews and the teaser was the first time the crew mentioned the release date. Hope the movie runs successfully.
