Are you aware of the new League of Legends Champions? If you’re not then do not worry. We have some information about them.
As the new season of League of Legends approaches, Riot has shared details about the 2023 champions. At the beginning of pre-season, Riot revealed that they were working on two new champions: a Darkin assassin and a male enchanter from Ixtal. Now, they have released the names of these champions. In this article, we will be discussing the New League of Legends Champions.
The Darkin champion is named Naafiri, and according to Lexi Gao, lead champion producer for League of Legends, she is a midlane assassin designed for players who enjoy hunting their opponents. Naafiri’s kit is straightforward, and based on Gao’s comments during a media preview event, it seems that she has the ability to transform into multiple bodies or forms.
Gao also mentioned that Naafiri is the only champion this year “without a shirt”, a reference to the popularity of champions with muscular abs among League of Legends players. Similar to previous Darkin champions Varus and Aatrox, Naafiri will be imprisoned in a weapon, in this case, a menacing-looking dagger.
While Naafiri is portrayed as a dark and sinister champion, the same can’t be said for the Ixtal enchanter, who is now known as Milio. Gao has revealed that Milio wields fire, but instead of using it for offense, he harnesses it for healing and soothing wounds.
Milio’s teaser from the beginning of pre-season showcased small, flame-like creatures that seem to be part of his kit. Additionally, Gao mentions that Milio carries a “trusty backpack” with him on his journeys. Overall, Milio sounds like a unique and different enchanter compared to others, with healing and supportive abilities rather than offensive.
Although Riot has shared new information about these champions, no artwork has been released yet, and the exact release dates for these champions have yet to be announced. However, based on the information provided by Gao during the event, it seems likely that Milio will be released first, followed by Naafiri.
This year, there are going to be new League of Legends champions on the roster, even with the limited information available currently. It’s known that Riot Games is making efforts to expand its champions pool to be more inclusive of different cultures, genders, and skill levels in all in-game roles. From the details revealed so far, it looks like they are making positive strides in that direction.
