Newcastle United Opinion: Two potential Salomon Rondon replacements

Newcastle United have achieved great things over the past few seasons under the managership of experienced Spaniard Rafa Benitez, who has had an extremely illustrious career managing some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Currently in a respectable place on the Premier League table, Benitez’s men have recent come into a good run of form and most of this has been down to excellent play on either flanks by Spaniard Ayoze Perez and new signing Miguel Almiron.

Sean Longstaff is another one of their players who has really come to the fore this season and Issac Hayden has surprisingly stepped up to the plate too. While all of these are bound to be positive pieces of news do Magpies supporters, there is still a gaping hole left to be filled for next season.

The striker’s role is one that has been regularly taken up by West Brom loanee Salomon Rondon this season and his departure at the end of the season could come as a massive blow to the Magpies and the purchase of a replacement must be their biggest priority in the summer window.

Here are 3 strikers who will be able to fill the role perfectly:

Daniel Sturridge

The Liverpool star is 29 now but is still more than capable of delivering goals at a consistent pace. Despite his lack of playing time and in fact, goals this season, his general quality can be enough to lure the Newcastle chiefs into making a bid.

His wondergoal against former club Chelsea earlier in the season is already a part of Premier League folklore while he was also part of a Champions League winning squad with the Blues in 2012 and this could be the perfect time for the Englishman to leave Anfield.

Victor Osimhen

The Nigerian international attacker is a lesser known star of the Belgian Jupiter Pro League and this season has really been a breakthrough for the talented superstar. His overall quality will be extremely useful to the Magpies as he does offer a more complete resumé.

Currently playing for RSC Charleroi on loan from Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, the 20-year-old has scored 11 times and picked up a further 3 assists from his 24 league appearances this season and he’s also at the right age to come to the English game and develop into a top star.

Youssef En-Nesiry

This Morrocan international star only recently joined La Liga outfit Leganes but given the season that he’s presently having in the La Liga, it’s no surprise that his current market value is hinted to be skyrocketing.

Formerly of Malaga, the 21-year-old has got 2 assists and 8 goals to his name from the 23 times that he has played for Leganes and his height and physical strength make him a massive threat in the box and he would be the closest replacement to the departing Rondon.
