Why Newcastle United should avoid a move for Danny Rose
According to The Daily Telegraph (h/t Daily Mail), Newcastle United are interested in offering an escape route to unsettled Tottenham left-back Danny Rose, who has fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho in North London.
The 29-year-old has only started once in the Premier League since Mourinho took over the reins from Mauricio Pochettino back in November and was omitted from the matchday squad in the goalless draw against Watford.
Rose was set to miss the trip to Vicarage Road due to a back injury but he reported for training on Friday, which led to the player’s bust-up with the Portuguese gaffer. (h/t Daily Mail)

The Magpies have been dealt a major blow heading into the hectic second half of the campaign, with Eintracht Frankfurt loanee Jetro Willems suffering a season-ending knee injury.
However, as per the report, Newcastle are willing to bring the England international to St. James’ Park on loan until the end of the season whilst Tottenham are only interested in offloading him on a permanent basis.
Meanwhile, Newcastle United salvaged a crucial point away from home, as a stoppage-time brace from centre-back Florian Lejeune ensured that the Magpies fought back from 2-0 down to rescue a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park against Everton on Tuesday night.

However, with the likes of Andy Carroll, Dwight Gayle, Yoshinori Muto, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joelinton continuing to struggle for goals up top, Newcastle need a new striker to improve on a meagre tally of just 24 goals scored so far.
Verdict
The injury to Willems has undoubtedly robbed Newcastle of some quality on the flanks but the displays of Matt Ritchie have been equally encouraging, meaning that it shouldn’t be a top priority for Bruce to sign another left-back as an immediate replacement for Willems.

Moreover, Newcastle already have the likes of Paul Dummett and Javier Manquillo as more than decent options on the left-hand side of the backline.
