Former WWE Superstar Zack Ryder, who now wrestles on the independent circuit under the name Matt Cardona reacted to Edge’s new hairstyle which the Hall of Famer sported at Hell in a Cell 2022.
Edge and Cardona go back a long way. Cardona and his close friend Curt Hawkins dressed as Edge and appeared at the Armageddon (2007) pay-per-view match of the Rated-R Superstar. Cardona and Hawkins replaced Edge during several moments of the triple-threat match that had Batista and The Undertaker as the other two competitors. Edge won that match thanks to the efforts of Cardona and Hawkins. Cardona and Hawkins were collectively known as The Edgeheads.
Edge sported a new hairstyle for his match at WWE’s latest Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. It had a resemblance to how Cardona’s hairstyle looked during his later years in WWE.
Cardona took to Twitter and wrote:
“I always knew @EdgeRatedR was a Broski.”
Matt Cardona’s Championship wins in WWE
Matt Cardona had the talent but was not booked properly. He did win a few titles though, during his stint in WWE.
The 37-year-old Cardona is a former one-time Intercontinental Champion. He also won the United States Championship on one occasion. The Long Island Iced Z also won the Tag Team Championship a couple of times during his time in the Stamford-based company.
Cardona is currently holding the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship and this is his first reign. He was released from Vince McMahon’s company in 2020 after a 15-year tenure.
Cardona primarily played a babyface character but now he is one of the best heels going around on the independent circuit. He is married to another former WWE Superstar Chelsea Green.
