Earlier this week, WWE confirmed that they are letting a number of WWE NXT talent go after releasing them from their contracts.
The move comes in an apparent effort to deal with ‘budget’ cuts and follows the releases made by the company just a shade over a month ago in April.
And just like the releases made last month, this month’s exodus has some big names too. Alexander Wolfe is one of the casualties, alongside stars like Kavita Devi and Skyler Story.
Wolfe, who was kicked off Imperium by Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner after his recent loss to Killian Dain, took to Twitter to address his release. He said:
“Just for the record: My WWE contract will expire on June 15th. That means I’m a free agent on June 16th. I have a lot in my head right now so let’s keep it short: Thank you @WWENXT@WWE for 6 year. Bye bye”
Wolfe and Nikki Cross enjoyed time on the NXT screen together as a part of ‘SAnitY’. The stable also consisted of Killian Dain and Eric Young.
The three guys made their way to the main roster, but none of them survived there. Nevertheless, the connection between the former SAnitY members has always stayed alive.
And Cross took to her Twitter account to send a special message to her former partner- thanking him for his help and wishing him the best for his next chapter. Her tweet stated:
“Thank you. You were so good to me from day 1. Getting to work with you and learn from you was a true honor. Outside of that, I’m just happy I got to experience your kindness and generosity as a brother. You are so talented and I’m excited for your next chapter @TheWWEWolfe[Heart emoji]”
Wolfe’s career seemed like it was taking a turn for the best when he was paired with Walter on NXT UK but him being ousted from Imperium this week was all the clue that fans needed to know that he was on the chopping block.
