The two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair is all set to lace up his wrestling boots and return to the squared circle one last time at the Starrcast V event.
Ric Flair will compete on July 31 at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium and this is being advertised as his last match. Initially, when the news of Flair’s retirement match broke out, various reports suggested that the legendary wrestler would team up with FTR to take on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat in a six-man tag team match.
That did not come to fruition as Steamboat rejected the idea. On Monday, it was officially announced that Flair would be competing in a tag team match where he would team up with son-in-law Andrade El Idolo to face the team of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal.
Flair and Jarrett have a long-storied history between themselves that dates back to their WCW days. The feud recommenced later on in WWF and TNA. Lethal was the one who trained Flair for his in-ring return. They also had a good rivalry in TNA. The Ric Flair and Andrade versus Jarret and Lethal match and the other matches in the event will air live on Fite TV during the SummerSlam weekend.
WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett will appear at WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view event – SummerSlam. He will not have a match but is going to officiate an important one.
Last week on SmackDown, Adam Pearce announced that Jeff Jarrett will be the special guest referee for The Usos versus The Street Profits match at The Biggest Party of the Summer.
The match is important as it is for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship currently held by The Usos.
