Hollywood star Dev Patel does some real-life heroics as he puts his body in line to break a knife fight
English actor Dev Patel was seen talking to the police after doing some heroic work as he put his body on the line to stop a stabbing in Adelaide on Monday Night.
Patel was captured by 7 News talking to South Australia politics following the incident on Gouger St in the CBD. A woman got arrested after a man ended up in the Royal Adelaide Hospital after allegedly being stabbed in the chest.
At about 8.45 pm on Monday, police attended a street fight between a man and a woman on Gouger St. Police say that the pair were known to each other and this was not a random attack.
The 32-year-old man was from Glengowrie and was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the hospital with not-so-serious injuries. Police arrested the 34-year-old Park Holme woman and charged her with aggravated assault causing harm. She was refused bail and will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court.
“He is used to acting the hero but Hollywood star Dev Patel has put his body on the line, risking his own safety to break up a stabbing in Adelaide. The actor turned good Samaritan was on a night out with friends when he says natural instinct kicked in”.
Police reveal details regarding Dev Patel’s involvement in the fight scene
The couple continued fighting inside a nearby service station where Patel and his friends witnessed the fight and tried to break up the fight.

Patel is known for his roles in Lion and Slumdog Millionaire. His girlfriend Tild Cobham-Hervy is Adelaide born and has starred alongside him in the Hotel Mumbai film.
