Vince McMahon and his wife Linda are known for paying enormous amounts to their top stars, and as far as AEW is concerned, it is a growing promotion that has been successful in a short period. AEW Salaries

Since its inception in 2019, AEW has successfully climbed through the ranks to become one of the biggest and popular promotions in the world. However, AEW is not close to challenging WWE’s supremacy, but still, it has managed to grow big enough.

The versatility of the company and the genius behind its creative storylines enabled the promotion into WWE’s biggest competitor in just two years. 

Founded by some of the brightest names in wrestling, such as Cody Rhodes, Adam Page, Nick Jackson, and Matt Jackson. AEW managed to become a fan favorite quickly and sold 100,000 tickets during its inaugural PPV event.

Many wrestlers in the AEW have received multi-million contracts, and AEW also provides them with a lighter schedule and more freedom.

An Average All Elite wrestlers earn an average annual salary of $300,000, which may be lower than the WWE wrestler’s wage. However, many WWE wrestlers are not given numerous perks and benefits. 

In WWE, only top-tier wrestlers, veterans, and main eventers receive fully catered travel and accommodation packages, but in AEW, all the AEW wrestlers receive these benefits.

  1. Jon MoxelyJon Moxley is the highest-paid AEW wrestler with $6 million annually. In addition, he deserves one of the highest base salaries at the promotions. Moxley is one of the biggest celebrities in the company and also has the freedom of wrestling in the independent circuit. He has won the AEW World championship once.
  2. Kenny Omega- Kenny Omega is one of the most popular and sought after wrestlers in the industry right now. He earns a whooping $3million paycheck. He is a former AEW World Champion and also an executive vice-president at the company.

3. Chris JerichoJericho is also among the top three highest-earning stars at the company. The legend earns $3million annually. Like, Moxely he is a former WWE star and has wrestled in various other promotions aswell. Even Y2J is a former AEW World Champion.

4. Cody Rhodes- The younger Rhodes brother also enjoyed the priviledge of earning $3million annually before he left the company earlier this month. He was a three-time AEW TNT champion and also an executive vice-president of the company.

5. Brandi Rhodes is the highest-paid AEW female wrestler with $2 million annually. She is the wife of the executive vice president of AEW, also serves as the promotion’s Chief Brand Officer.

WWE Salaries

This promotion has been there for a long time now and has been known to give huge paychecks. All the wrestlers under the rise gave them exclusive rights to book them for events for which they could sell TV Broadcasting rights and tickets. As a result, an average WWE wrestler earns an annual salary of $500,000. Veterans and other top-tier wrestlers earn the most considerable wage compared to the mid-tier and lower card wrestlers. 

  1. Brock Lesnar- Beast “Brock Lesnar” is the highest-paid wrestler globally with an annual income of $15 million. The veteran has years of experience under his name and is a popular superstar among the fans. The Beast is worthy of this hefty paycheck. He has won several championships throughout his stay at the company.

2. John Cena– The current Hollywood superstar is also under a contract with WWE and enjoys a huge sum of $13million annually. He has been WWE Champion (13 times), World Heavyweight Champion (3 times), and the WWE United States Championship (5 times) and also won the Royal Rumble two times.

3. Roman Reigns- As of 2022, Roman Reigns is earning around $10million every year, which situates him among the highest-paid wrestlers in WWE. He has been the WWE Universal Champion (2 times), WWE Championship (3 times), WWE Tag Team Champion, and the 2015 Royal Rumble.

4. Becky Lynch- Becky Lynch is the highest-paid female wrestler with an annual income of $3.1 million in terms of female wrestlers. She is famously known for her outgoing and rowdy persona. Lynch has become one of the most popular superstars of all time recently.

5. Ronda RouseyThe former UFC star earns a staggering $2.1million annually. She is a former champion as well and had main vented Wrestlemania 35. She won the 2022 Royal Rumble and would be again main-eventing Wrestlemania 38 this year.

Some other female wrestlers are Alexa Bliss, Bayley with salaries around the $350,000 mark in the promotion. 

On average, a WWE wrestler makes between $100,000 to $500,000 in a year.
