Stephen and Ayesha Curry have been married for over a decade, but their love story began as adolescents. When Stephen was 15 and Ayesha was 14, they met at the same church in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Stephen’s sister recalls Ayesha influencing her brother early on in a memoir about his life titled The Miraculous Rise of Steph Curry. “She’d locate him after church, say two things, and walk away,” Sydel remembered in the book. “In a way, that’s how she’d flirt with him. He certainly enjoyed it. It made an effect on me.”

It would be several years before Ayesha and Stephen’s chats progressed. They met in 2008 after running into one other in Los Angeles while Stephen was in town for the ESPYs. “I mean, it was buddy vibes… until I dodged the first kiss,” Ayesha said to the New York Post afterwards.

However, as Ayesha learned that her former childhood buddy was looking for more than just companionship, things came into place. Stephen and Ayesha married on June 30, 2011, and had their first child, Riley, the following year.

Their family has been extended by two members since then, with the additions of daughter Ryan and son Canon in 2015 and 2018.

Ayesha supported her husband as his Golden State Warriors easily trounced the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the 2022 NBA Finals, 103-90. Curry, a four-time NBA champion, was awarded series MVP.

His wife was encouraging both on and off the court. She celebrated her triumph by posting several photos on her Instagram account. In one of her postings, she stated, “I couldn’t be more proud of @stephencurry30 and the @warriors!!! #wcfchamps #wcfmvp God is wonderful!”
